About this game

Learn to read sheet music and improve your sight-reading skills with Music Tutor. Develop your speed and accuracy in reading sheet music by identifying music notes in timed sessions. Choose to practice between treble, bass and/or alto clefs for a duration of 1, 5 or 10-minute sessions. Music Tutor helps with ear training and practicing your listening (aural) skills. During the practice session, every note is displayed along with the sound of the note (this feature can also be turned off if not necessary).

After each test, you can review your mistakes and see your progress. There is also an option to set the range for practice, making this an ideal app for both beginners and advanced students. Music Tutor also supports Solfège (Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Si or Ti) and German note names.

Music Tutor also comes with a sheet music reference chart for treble, bass and alto clefs that you can use to quickly grasp the names of all the notes. As you use Music Tutor, you can keep track of your progress and improvement using the Stats page.

Good, but a bit annoying to use. Every time you leave the identify portion of the app it asks if you want to go back to the main menu. Yes, just do what I asked, no data is being lost. In settings you have to use tiny scroll bars to adjust the note range. Impossible to adjust accurately with my fat fingers (I like to use a small note range to relentlessly drill on a few notes at a time). Sliders go past the right edge of the screen if your font size is large.

Elegantly simple app. However, if you don't already know the keys on a piano, this is only one side of the equation. I played for years, but my sightreading was always terrible, so this is ideal for me. Two issues keep it at 4 stars. 1. There needs to be better visual feedback when you get the note wrong. maybe flash the letter quickly over the staff? 2. Audio should play the sound of the note you select as well. This is absolutely necessary to train your ear. Overall great app.

This is quite possibly the best app for learning to read music that I have ever seen. It really allows you to learn fast and it's easy to use. It accomplishes what it is ment to accomplish with no ads and no pop-ups. Its fabulous. My only complaint is, I wish it the notes you have to choose from as answers were set up a little more far apart and easier to touch with one thumb or something like that. Easier to see maybe? Idk, it's a great app though.
